Two Derwent Family Fun Days
Please contact Derwent Pencil Museum for further information…Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th May
Underwater: Use Inktense crayons, or better still Inktense blocks for an underwater drawing with shoals of swimming fish. Learn how to use the water soluble inks that you can make from this brand new Derwent range. Drawn free hand in mainly blues and greens, with touches of orange and yellow, you construct your own underwater space with plenty of fish and beautiful sea fans in easy stages. Inspired by the beautiful preliminary sketches for 'Finding Nemo' at the Pixar exhibition in London a couple of years ago and also by a South African artist who draws underwater scenes. Almost like creating your own aquarium - very relaxing!

Self Portrait: You look at your face every day in the mirror when brushing hair, doing makeup, or cleaning teeth. Have fun creating a head and shoulders portrait which could include objects which give a clue to your personality …or might show how you'd like to be seen. No mirror needed to show who's the most beautiful of them all! The aim is to create a characterful and colourful drawing which draws out your best points using watersoluble Derwent crayons and blocks.
